Preparation and Application
For best results, ensure the wood surface is clean and smooth. Open grain should be filled with Rustins Grainfiller to achieve an even finish. When renovating furniture, clean thoroughly with White Spirit and fine wire wool to remove any grease or wax residue before applying the polish.
Apply multiple coats as needed to build a sufficient layer of shellac. For sealing wood prior to waxing, two liberal coats are recommended.
