Rustins Wood Bleach Set (A & B Solutions, 500ml)

The Rustins Wood Bleach Set is designed to effectively remove weather stains and discolourations from wood, returning it to a white or lighter shade. Ideal for preparing natural timber, this bleach allows you to later stain the wood to a different shade using Rustins Wood Dyes.

Preparation

• Ensure wood is completely bare before application—remove all varnish, lacquer, or polish.
• For best results, use Rustins Strypit Paint and Varnish Stripper to strip old finishes.
• Scrape off excess finish, then apply Strypit again and rub with No. 1 or 2 steel wool along the grain.
• Wipe clean and allow to dry.

Application

• Apply Solution A with a brush and leave for 10–20 minutes before applying Solution B.
• Some woods may darken initially when Solution A is applied; bleaching occurs after Solution B.
• One coat of each solution is standard.

Drying & Re-coating

• After applying Solution B, allow at least 2 hours to dry. Avoid letting it dry completely, as it may form hard-to-remove crystals.
• For very dark or heavily stained wood, repeat the process after 2 hours.
