Zinsser Gardz Sealer Primer Clear 1 Litre
Zinsser Gardz clear water-based acrylic sealer primer in 1 litre. Seals porous drywall, plaster, chalky surfaces and residual wallpaper adhesive.
Zinsser Gardz Sealer Primer is a clear, water-based acrylic resin sealer supplied in a 1 litre size for preparing porous interior surfaces. It penetrates deeply into porous surfaces and dries quickly to form a hard, moisture-proof film that helps prevent drywall blistering and bubbling.
Overview
Gardz Sealer Primer binds down chalky surfaces, strengthens soft texture finishes and seals in residual wallpaper paste. It can be applied to high-pH surfaces and is easily cleaned up with soap and water.
Applications
- Damaged drywall: prevents bubbles forming when damaged drywall is skim coated with spackling or joint compound, and seals damaged facing paper to create a sound surface for repairs
- New drywall, joint compound and spackling: seals porous material for a more uniform finish and creates a moisture resistant film that protects against blistering and tearing
- Plaster: suitable for priming new plaster once it has cured for at least 24 hours, and for old bare plaster that is clean, dry and sound
- Calcimine: penetrates this chalky, water-sensitive plaster and resists moisture from water-based topcoats
- Wallpaper adhesive residue: seals in residual adhesive to prevent reactivation by water-based topcoats and texture finishes
- Textured walls and popcorn ceilings: hardens soft or crumbly texture material before water-based primer or paint is applied
- Old wallpaper: seals true paper wallcoverings installed before the 1960s, which can be identified with a wet sponge test
- Pre-wallcovering primer: seals drywall facing paper and skim coat, and protects drywall when old wallcovering is stripped
- Builder's flat paint: binds chalky builder's flat paint to the wall
