Types of Locks Explained
A deadlock features a single deadbolt that is locked or unlocked with a key from either side. A sashlock, like the UNION 2201, includes both a deadbolt and a latch, allowing operation via lever handles. The security level of mortice locks is determined by the number of levers (ranging from 2 to 5). The higher the number of levers, the more secure the lock.
