TEXAS INSTRUMENTS LM318N/NOPB Precision High Speed Operational Amplifier - 15MHz 70V/us 10V 40V
Precision TEXAS INSTRUMENTS high-speed operational amplifier. 15MHz bandwidth, 70V/µs slew rate, 10-40V supply. Ideal for A/D converters & oscillators.
The TEXAS INSTRUMENTS LM318N/NOPB is a precision high-speed operational amplifier engineered to deliver exceptional performance for demanding electronic applications. It provides a significant increase in speed—approximately ten times faster than standard general-purpose op-amps—while maintaining excellent DC performance characteristics. This makes it an outstanding choice for circuits where both bandwidth and accuracy are critical.
A key advantage of the LM318 series is its internal unity-gain frequency compensation. This integrated feature greatly simplifies circuit design, as it eliminates the need for external compensation components in most standard operating conditions. However, the design retains flexibility; for optimising performance in specific applications, external frequency compensation can be added. For instance, employing feed-forward compensation in inverting configurations can dramatically boost the slew rate to over 150V/µs and nearly double the available bandwidth.
This amplifier is characterised by its high slew rate and fast settling time, which are essential for precision signal processing. These attributes make it exceptionally useful in a variety of professional and industrial contexts, including high-speed analogue-to-digital (A/D) converters, precision oscillators, and sample-and-hold circuits. Its design also allows for overcompensation to enhance stability in applications where the maximum bandwidth is not required, and a single added capacitor can reduce the 0.1% settling time to under 1µs.
Constructed with quality and reliability in mind, this operational amplifier is supplied in a through-hole mountable dual in-line package (DIP), facilitating easy prototyping and robust permanent installation on printed circuit boards (PCBs). It is designated as a green product, manufactured without antimony or brominated flame retardants (no Sb/Br), aligning with modern environmental considerations for electronic
