Connect RS232 devices via USB with this StarTech adaptor. Features COM retention, LED indicators & ESD protection. Broad OS compatibility.
The StarTech USB to RS232 Serial Adaptor Cable offers a reliable solution for connecting RS232 serial devices to modern computers via a USB port. Ideal for adding legacy functionality to PCs that lack native serial connections, this adaptor ensures seamless integration with a wide range of industrial and commercial equipment.
Equipped with integrated LED indicators, the cable allows for real-time monitoring of data transmission, data reception, and USB connection status. A standout feature is the COM port retention, which retains serial COM port values even in the event of a disconnection or system reboot, saving time and preventing configuration headaches.
Built for demanding environments, the adaptor boasts a rugged one-piece TPE construction with Level 4 ESD protection (15kV air and 8kV contact) to safeguard your equipment. Copper shielding effectively minimises EMI/RFI interference, while gold-plated connections ensure optimal signal integrity. Supporting serial data rates up to 921.6Kb/s and powered by the FT232R chip, this high-performance converter is compatible with Windows, Server, Chrome OS, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
