PRO-ELEC 5-Core 3185Y Mains Cable, Black - 1mm 100m

The PRO-ELEC 5-Core 3185Y Mains Cable is a robust and reliable black-sheathed cable designed for a wide range of fixed wiring applications. Constructed with five copper cores, each with a cross-sectional area of 1mm², and insulated with a durable PVC jacket, it offers excellent electrical performance and mechanical durability. This cable is fully compliant with UK and European standards, including BS EN 60228 and BS EN 50525-2-11, ensuring it meets rigorous safety and quality benchmarks.

Rated for a voltage of 300/500V and suitable for use in ambient temperatures from +5°C to +70°C, this 5-core cable is ideal for complex control circuits, three-phase power distribution with neutral and earth, and other multi-core wiring scenarios where separate conductors for different phases and safety earth are required. Its black PVC outer sheath provides good resistance to abrasion, oils, and moisture, contributing to a long service life in suitable environments. The minimum recommended bend radius is eight times the overall diameter of the cable, which helps prevent damage to the conductors during installation.

Please note, this specific cable variant is generally unsuitable for direct outdoor use or demanding industrial applications where more specialised cabling is required. The unscreened (CPR ECA) design is typical for standard power and control wiring within buildings. The copper conductors ensure low resistance and efficient power transmission, making this a dependable choice for electricians, contractors, and DIY enthusiasts undertaking compliant electrical installations in commercial, residential, and light industrial settings.
