The PlastiKote Crackle Touch Spray Paint is a unique 2-part system that combines a base coat and a top coat to create an antique, crackled finish on a variety of surfaces. This innovative product uses two incompatible paints to produce a textured effect, with the depth and width of the crackle adjustable by layering the base coat. It’s fast-drying and perfect for decorative projects, adding a vintage charm to glass, papier-mâché, stone, terracotta, wood, and wicker.
Drying Time
- Base Coat: Allow 2-5 minutes between applications.
- Top Coat: Apply while the base coat is still tacky.
- Touch dry in 10-20 minutes; thoroughly dry in 30-50 minutes (varies with the number of coats applied).
For a light crackle effect, use 2 light coats of base coat followed by 1 even layer of top coat. A medium crackle effect requires 2 heavy base coats and 2-3 even top coats. For a large crackle effect, apply 2 heavy base coats and 3-4 even top coats while still tacky.
