Dormer E500 high-speed steel tap (10mm x 1.5mm) for precise threading in blind or through holes. Ideal for metalworking.
The Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap is a versatile straight flute tap designed for both hand and machine use, making it a valuable tool for various tapping applications. Crafted from high-speed steel (HSS), it ensures durability and longevity, even in demanding conditions.
This tap is exceptionally adaptable, suitable for threading both through and blind holes in a wide range of materials. When working with blind holes, using a set of three straight flute taps is recommended:
- Taper (First) Tap – Ideal for starting threads.

- Bottoming (Third/Plug) Tap – Perfect for finishing threads near the bottom of blind holes.
Key features include ISO529 compliance, Class 2 tolerance for a 6H fit, and a bright surface treatment for corrosion resistance. The straight flute geometry provides excellent chip evacuation, while the chamfer options (No. 1, 2, and 3) ensure precision in various threading scenarios.
