Zinc White Alkyd Metal Primer, 2.5 Litre

The Zinc White Alkyd Metal Primer is a specialised coating designed for use on ferrous metals such as iron and steel. Formulated with a zinc white base, this primer offers effective corrosion inhibition by providing a protective barrier that helps prevent rust and oxidation. It is an alkyd-based product, delivering excellent adhesion, durability, and resistance to chipping and peeling once cured. This primer prepares the metal surface for subsequent topcoats, ensuring a long-lasting and professional finish. Its high-build formulation provides good coverage and opacity, helping to conceal minor surface imperfections.

Key Features

• Anti-corrosive Protection: Acts as a rust-inhibitive primer to protect iron and steel from oxidation.
• Strong Adhesion: Alkyd resin formula ensures a secure bond to properly prepared metal substrates.
• High Opacity: Zinc white pigment offers excellent hide and coverage, providing a solid base for topcoats.
• Durable Finish: Creates a tough, resilient film that resists chipping and abrasion.
• Versatile Application: Suitable for priming a wide range of metal surfaces prior to painting with alkyd or oil-based finishes.

Applications

Ideal for priming structural steelwork, metal railings, gates, fencing, machinery, agricultural equipment, and industrial metal fabrications. It is an essential preparatory coating for exterior and interior metalwork that requires a durable, protective paint system.
