Würth Elektronik WE-STAR-TEC 5mm Split Ferrite Core, 182 Ohm
Würth WE-STAR-TEC split ferrite core for 5mm cables. 182 Ohm impedance, NiZn core, 1MHz-1GHz range. Secure locking key system.
The Würth Elektronik WE-STAR-TEC Split Ferrite Core is a high-quality interference suppression component designed to clamp onto cables with a diameter of 5mm. It effectively attenuates electromagnetic interference (EMI) in a broad frequency range from 1MHz to 1GHz, making it an essential accessory for improving signal integrity and compliance with EMC standards in various electronic applications.
This ferrite core features a nickel-zinc (NiZn) core material, which is specifically optimised for supplementary interference suppression in the high-frequency range. The component is part of the user-friendly STAR-TEC series, distinguished by several innovative features that streamline installation and enhance security.
Key Features & Benefits
- Prefixing Cable System: This unique design facilitates the cable assembly process, allowing for quick and error-free attachment to the target cable.
- Cable Clamping Protection: Integrated protection prevents damage to the cable insulation during installation and use.
- Patented Security Locking: An internal security locking system, operated by a dedicated STAR-TEC key (sold separately), prevents unauthorised removal of the ferrite from the cable. The core can be opened and refitted at any time with this key.
- Robust Housing: The plastic housing is classified UL94 V15, indicating good flame retardancy, and is rated for an operating temperature range of –25°C to +105°C, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.
With its compact dimensions and secure, reusable design, this ferrite core provides a dependable and convenient solution for managing EMI in professional setups.
