TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SN74HCT245N Octal Bus Transceiver, DIP 20
TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SN74HCT245N octal bus transceiver with 3-state outputs for 4.5-5.5V systems. Ideal for communications & data buses.
The TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SN74HCT245N is a high-performance octal bus transceiver with 3-state outputs, engineered for robust and reliable asynchronous two-way communication between data buses. Its intelligent control function design minimises external timing requirements, simplifying integration into complex digital systems. The device facilitates flexible data flow, transmitting from the A bus to the B bus or vice versa, controlled by the logic level at the direction-control (DIR) input. The output-enable (OE) input provides further control, allowing the device to be disabled to effectively isolate the connected buses for system management and power saving.
Featuring high-current 3-state outputs, this transceiver can drive bus lines directly or support up to 15 Low-power Schottky (LSTTL) loads, ensuring strong signal integrity in demanding applications. The inputs are TTL-voltage compatible, offering seamless interfacing with a wide range of standard logic families. Manufactured as a green product with no antimony or bromine (Sb/Br), it aligns with modern environmental and safety standards for electronic components.
Key Applications
This versatile transceiver is ideally suited for critical digital infrastructure, including communications and networking equipment where reliable data routing is essential. It is also a perfect fit for sensing and instrumentation systems that require precise and stable signal transmission between modules.
Housed in a durable Dual In-line Package (DIP), it is designed for through-hole mounting, providing mechanical strength and ease of prototyping or use in industrial assemblies. With a wide operating temperature range, it delivers consistent performance in varied environmental conditions, making it a dependable choice for both commercial and industrial electronic designs.
