Overview

The MAX3232CPWR is a multichannel RS-232 line driver and receiver from Texas Instruments, designed for serial communication. It uses an integrated dual charge-pump circuit to generate the RS-232 voltage levels from a single supply ranging from 3V to 5.5V, so a separate higher-voltage power source is not required. The device is supplied in a TSSOP-16 package and contains two drivers and two receivers.

Handling Guidance

The bus terminals feature ESD protection, but the MOS gates have limited built-in ESD protection. During storage or handling, short the leads together or place the device in conductive foam to prevent electrostatic damage.
