TEXAS INSTRUMENTS LM2576HVT-ADJ Step Down Regulator, 3A, TO-220
Adjustable 3A step-down regulator, 4V-60V input, 1.23V-57V output, TO-220 package.
The LM2576HVT-ADJ from Texas Instruments is a monolithic adjustable step-down (buck) switching regulator in a 5-pin TO-220 package. It integrates all active functions required for a high-efficiency switching power supply, needing only four external components. This regulator features a fixed 52 kHz internal oscillator, internal frequency compensation, and offers excellent line and load regulation, making it a straightforward and reliable solution for power management designs.
The wide 4V to 60V input voltage range and adjustable output from 1.23V to 57V, with a continuous 3A output current, allow flexible use in a variety of applications. It delivers high efficiency (up to 77%), which reduces heat sink requirements and saves space. A TTL shutdown capability enables a low-power standby mode with a typical 50µA standby current. Integrated thermal shutdown and current limit protection ensure safe operation under fault conditions.
The LM2576HVT-ADJ is designed to operate over a -40°C to 125°C temperature range, making it suitable for demanding environments. It is pin-compatible with popular three-terminal linear regulators, providing a higher efficiency alternative that simplifies power supply design. This regulator is optimised for use with standard series of inductors, streamlining the design process.
