The StarTech 5m OS2 Single Mode LC to SC Fibre Optic Patch Lead is a simplex single mode patch lead with a 5 metre cable length, designed for connectivity in demanding network environments. It is optimised for 40 and 100 Gigabit networks and supports bi-directional (BiDi) transmission over a single fibre, which makes it suitable for space-constrained installations where minimising fibre count is essential.

Construction

The cable uses a bend-insensitive fibre core housed within an Aramid-reinforced jacket, which helps protect the fibre against signal loss in tight bends. The fibre is 9/125 µm OS2 single mode, and both the LC and SC connectors feature UPC polished ends for low insertion loss and high return loss.

Safety

The jacket is flame-retardant and Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSOH) rated, making it suitable for installation in public spaces or enclosed areas where toxic fumes must be minimised in the event of a fire.

Compatibility and Standards
