StarTech.com 8 Port PCI Express SATA Expansion Card
Add 8 SATA 6Gb/s ports to your PC with this StarTech.com PCIe card. Features locking connectors, software RAID support & low-profile bracket.
The StarTech.com 8 Port PCI Express SATA Expansion Card is a simple and effective solution for expanding the storage capabilities of your desktop computer. It adds eight high-speed SATA 6Gb/s ports, enabling you to connect additional hard drives or SSDs for increased capacity, improved performance, or creating backup arrays.
Utilising four efficient 2-port controllers and a PCI Express multiplexer, the card delivers reliable connectivity through a PCIe x4 interface. Connection to your drives is made via two included mini-SAS to 4x SATA adaptor cables. A key feature is the locking connector on each SATA port, which securely holds the cable in place to prevent accidental disconnection and ensure data integrity.
The card supports software RAID configurations, giving you flexibility in setting up mirrored, striped, or other array types directly through your operating system. Installation is straightforward with plug and play functionality, and a low-profile bracket is included for compatibility with smaller form factor cases. It is widely compatible, supporting Windows XP through to Windows 10, Linux kernels 2.6.32 and later, and Mac OS 10.6.8+.
Perfect for workstations, servers, or advanced home systems, this expansion card is an essential upgrade for professionals and enthusiasts needing to maximise their internal storage potential without replacing their motherboard.
