The StarTech.com 6 Port PCI-Express 6Gbps SATA Expansion Card is a straightforward and highly effective solution for adding internal SATA connectivity to your desktop computer. By installing it into a vacant PCI-Express x4 slot, you can add six individual SATA ports, significantly expanding your system's storage capabilities.
This card allows you to connect up to six SATA hard disk drives, solid-state drives, or optical drives simultaneously, each capable of operating at the maximum 6Gb/s transfer speed. The combined total throughput can reach up to 16Gb/s, ensuring high-performance data access for demanding applications. It is fully compatible with software RAID configurations, offering greater flexibility and improved compatibility with a wide range of motherboards.
Driven by the reliable ASMedia ASM1166 chipset, this expansion card delivers stable and fast performance. It supports modern drive features including TRIM commands for SSD maintenance, 4Kn advanced format drives, and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring for drive health.
To accommodate different PC case sizes, a low-profile bracket is included alongside the standard bracket, making it suitable for both full-height and small form factor systems. The card boasts wide operating system compatibility, supporting Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11, Mac OS 10.10 and above, and Linux kernels 2.6.32 and newer.
