Expand your PC's connectivity with the StarTech.com 2 Port RS232 Serial PCI-Express Card, designed to provide two additional RS232 serial ports for your system. This card is ideal for connecting legacy devices such as card readers, printers, PIN pads, and modems, ensuring seamless integration with your existing hardware.
Powered by the ASIX AX99100 chipset, this card supports the industry-standard 16950 UART, delivering a maximum data transfer rate of 921.6kb/s for reliable and efficient communication. With a 256-byte FIFO cache per transmitter and receiver, data handling is optimised to reduce CPU load and prevent data loss.
The card offers flexible power options, providing 5V or 12V power output on pin 9 when external power is connected, making it suitable for devices that require power from the serial port. It supports 9, 8, 7, 6, and 5 data bits (one per port), ensuring compatibility with a wide range of serial protocols.
Installation is straightforward with a PCI-Express x1 interface, and the card comes with both full-size and low-profile brackets for case compatibility. Whether you are upgrading an older system or adding serial capabilities to a modern PC, this adaptor card is a reliable solution.
Note: This product includes a 2-year manufacturer warranty. The card supports Windows 7/8/10 and Linux 2.4-2.6.x (LTS only) operating systems.
