StarTech.com 2 Port RS232 PCI-Express Serial Card
Add 2 RS232 ports via PCIe. High-speed 921.6Kb/s, 256B FIFO. Includes low profile brackets. Supports Win & Linux.
The StarTech.com 2 Port RS232 PCI-Express Serial Card adds two external RS232 serial ports to your PC system, making it simple to connect legacy hardware such as card readers and printers. Engineered around the high-performance ASIX AX99100 chipset with a 16C1050 UART, this card delivers reliable and fast bi-directional data transfer at up to 921.6Kb/s per port, supported by a 256-byte FIFO buffer to prevent data loss during high-throughput operations.
Security and flexibility are built in with support for Odd/Even/Mark/Space/None parity modes and 5/6/7/8/9 data bits, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of older devices. The card includes COM retention and LED status indicators, making it easy to monitor port activity and maintain consistent COM port assignments across system restarts. It also accepts screw-locking serial cables for a secure and stable connection.
Host interface is a PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slot, which is compatible with most modern motherboards. The card ships with both standard and low profile brackets, allowing installation in compact and small form factor (SFF) chassis. It supports Windows 7/8/10/11, Server 2016/2019, and Linux 2.6.13+ (LTS versions only).
Contents include the serial card, low profile brackets, and a user guide. This is a robust solution for users who need to keep older serial peripherals working with modern computer systems.
