StarTech.com 2 Port PCI-Express 6Gbps SATA Expansion Card
Add two SATA 6Gbps ports with hardware RAID support. Compatible with Windows, Mac & Linux. Low-profile bracket included.
The StarTech.com 2 Port PCI-Express SATA Expansion Card offers a simple and effective solution for expanding the internal SATA connections on your desktop computer. By installing this card into an available PCI-Express x2 slot, you can add two high-speed SATA III (6Gbps) ports to your system, perfect for connecting additional hard drives, SSD drives, or optical drives.
Powered by the reliable ASMedia ASM1062R chipset, this card delivers maximum data transfer speeds of up to 6Gb/s per port, with a combined total throughput of up to 8Gb/s. It supports advanced storage features including TRIM (for SSD optimisation), 4Kn (4KB native sector size) drives, and S.M.A.R.T. monitoring for drive health, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for your storage devices.
A standout feature is the built-in hardware RAID controller, which supports RAID 0 (striping for performance), RAID 1 (mirroring for redundancy), SPAN, and JBOD configurations. This allows you to create flexible and robust storage arrays directly from the card's BIOS, independent of your operating system.
Designed for versatility, the card includes a low-profile bracket, making it compatible with both standard and small form factor (SFF) computer cases. It boasts wide operating system compatibility, functioning seamlessly with Windows (7, 8, 10, 11), Mac OS (10.10 and above), and Linux (kernel 2.6.32+). Please note that on Mac OS systems, only software RAID is supported.
Ideal for PC builders, IT professionals, and enthusiasts looking to upgrade their storage capabilities, this expansion card is a reliable and cost-effective way to add high-speed SATA connectivity without replacing your motherboard.
