StarTech 1 Port 2.5GbE PoE+ PCI-Express Network Card is a network interface card offering 2.5GbE connectivity and Power over Ethernet (PoE+) support, installed in a PCI Express slot on a desktop or server. It is built around the Intel I225-V chipset with Intel vPro technology.

Overview

This network interface card supports multi-Gigabit NBASE-T (802.3bz) speeds and automatically negotiates connections at 2.5Gbps, 1Gbps, 100Mbps, or 10Mbps. It works with existing Cat5e or CAT6 cabling, allowing network bandwidth to be increased without replacing the cabling with Cat6a.

Power over Ethernet

The card complies with IEEE 802.3af (PoE) and IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standards and functions as Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE). It can deliver up to 48V DC and 25.5W of power to compatible Powered Devices (PDs), removing the need for separate power adapters or injectors for devices such as IP security cameras, wireless access points, VoIP phones, and access control systems.
