Sennheiser MD42 Dynamic Omnidirectional Microphone, 360g

The Sennheiser MD42 is a high-quality, rugged handheld reporter's microphone engineered for demanding environments. Featuring an omnidirectional pick-up pattern, it captures speech and vocals with crystal-clear, natural clarity, eliminating the need to point the microphone directly at the sound source. This makes it exceptionally 'good-natured' and forgiving for live reporting, interviews, and broadcasting where positioning can be inconsistent.

Its robust construction is built from refined steel and finished with a black, well-gripping coating, designed to withstand rough handling. The two-ply sound inlet basket offers superior protection from wind and pop noise, while the elastically mounted, rubber-isolated capsule dramatically reduces sensitivity to handling noise. This combination ensures excellent speech intelligibility and recording results in challenging conditions.

Optimised for speech, the MD42 delivers excellent clarity thanks to its tailored frequency response. Its uncomplicated handling and extremely rugged metal housing make it a first-choice microphone for professional radio, television, conferences, and live events. It provides reliable performance for a wide range of applications from education and commercial installations to music and professional audio.
