ROU68500 Hasp and Staple
Basic steel hasp and staple fitting for securing shed doors, storage chests, and cupboards. Simple hinged design for padlock use.
The ROU68500 Hasp and Staple is a practical metalwork fitting designed for basic security applications. Its simple hinged design allows one side to pivot, enabling the staple to be inserted for locking with a padlock or pin. This type of fitting is commonly used on garden sheds, storage chests, utility cupboards, and other light-duty outdoor structures where a straightforward, reversible closure is needed.
Construction and Design
Constructed from durable steel, this hasp and staple is built to withstand typical weather exposure and resist bending or forced entry. The design typically features pre-drilled mounting holes for easy installation with standard screws or bolts. The hinge point allows the hasp to swing clear of the staple when unlocked, providing unobstructed access to the door or lid.
Typical Applications
- For securing wooden shed doors against casual intrusion.
- For fitting to tool chests and storage boxes.
- For use on garden gates or outdoor storage cabinets.
- As a basic lock point on workshop cupboards.
Installation Notes
For best results, ensure the mounting surface is flat and solid. It is recommended to use appropriate fasteners for the material (e.g., wood screws for timber, bolts for metal). Align the hasp and staple precisely so the staple slides easily into the hasp's loop when closed. The ROU68500 provides a functional and cost-effective security solution for a variety of domestic and light commercial settings.
