Modelcraft Archimedes Spiral Hand Drill with Return Spring

The Modelcraft Archimedes Spiral Hand Drill with Return Spring is a compact manual precision tool designed for intricate hobby and modelling work. Its Archimedes spiral mechanism allows the drill to turn by pushing the knurled centre ring back and forth, removing the need for a traditional rotating handle.

Overview

The spiral drive mechanism converts linear motion into rotary motion, providing a smooth drilling action with good tactile feedback. A built-in return spring retracts the drill bit after each push, helping to maintain a steady rhythm during extended use. The knurled centre ring provides a secure grip for controlled placement when working in confined spaces or on delicate materials.

Key Features

• Precision Chuck: Accepts drill bits with a shank diameter of up to 1 mm for pilot holes and detailed work.
• Spiral Drive Mechanism: Turns by pushing the knurled centre ring, without a rotating handle.
• Return Spring: Automatically retracts the drill bit after each push.
• Compact Size: 43 mm high, 33 mm wide and 15 mm deep, making it easy to store in a toolkit or modelling case.
• Durable Construction: Made from robust materials designed to withstand frequent use.

Applications

The hand drill suits fine work such as scale model building, miniature electronic circuits, jewellery crafting, electronics repair and fine woodworking. It is designed to pair with the ultra-fine drill bits in Modelcraft Microbox drill sets, including the PDR4001 and PDR4004.

Choose the Modelcraft Archimedes Spiral Hand Drill with Return Spring when you need a compact manual drill for controlled, precise drilling in confined spaces.
