Loctite 222 Low Strength Purple Threadlocker, 10ml
Loctite 222 purple threadlocker (10ml) for low-strength locking of screws. Easy removal, ideal for brass & aluminium fittings.
Loctite 222 Low Strength Purple Threadlocker is a specialised adhesive designed to secure threaded fasteners where future adjustment or disassembly is required. It provides a reliable alternative to mechanical locking methods like nylon patches, star washers, and spring washers, simplifying assembly and improving reliability on screws and other threaded fittings that may need to be undone with a screwdriver.
This threadlocker has a distinctive purple colour for clear identification on the assembly line or in the workshop. Its low-strength formula is perfect for fasteners that will require subsequent adjustment, preventing loosening from vibration while still allowing for relatively easy dismantling when needed. The product is thixotropic, meaning it stays in place upon application and will not migrate or run, ensuring precise control and minimal waste.
During assembly, Loctite 222 lubricates the threads, making tightening easier and helping to achieve a more accurate and consistent clamp load. It is particularly well-suited for use on non-ferrous components such as brass and aluminium, where its formulation helps to prevent galling and thread damage. The ability to easily remove components makes it an ideal choice for maintenance, calibration points, and assemblies that are regularly serviced.
Supplied in a convenient 10ml bottle with an integrated applicator, it is ready for precise, drop-by-drop dispensing. The robust adhesive cures in the absence of air between tightly mated metal surfaces, creating a secure, plastic-like bond that seals and locks threads effectively. This makes it a staple in workshops for securing everything from small set screws and adjustment bolts to instrument fittings and sensor mounts.
