The Knipex StepCut Cable Shears 160mm are precision-engineered for cutting multi-core stranded copper and aluminium cables with ease. These shears can also handle solid copper and aluminium cables up to 5 x 4mm², making them an excellent choice for electrical and industrial applications. However, they are not suitable for steel wire or hard-drawn copper conductors.

Crafted from forged, oil-hardened special tool steel with a durable chrome-plated finish, the cutting edges are induction-hardened to approximately 56 HRC, ensuring longevity and superior cutting performance. The StepCut technology allows wires to be cut one after the other, reducing the effort required by up to 40% compared to standard cable shears of the same length.

These shears feature multi-component grips that are VDE tested up to 10,000V, making them safe for use on live circuits up to 1,000V, in compliance with DIN EN/IEC 60900 standards. The ergonomic handle design enhances comfort and control, even with larger cable diameters, while the integrated pinch guard prevents finger injuries during operation.
